Food and service were good. The atmosphere is nice. Prices seem really high though compared to other German restaurants that I have visited. It's about $30 per entree. Kids meals were $14. A little pricey for my family.

My high school German language club used to have regular dinners here. It's been here forever and that's why I love it. The food is authentic and traditional. Come with people that you love. Be ready to wait for your food because it is a small staff. The upside to waiting is that waiting for your food is very European.

Charming and authentic German restaurant on the outside of downtown Sunnyvale. The ambiance was welcoming and the food was absolutely delicious! Each dish our party ordered had amazing flavors and it really felt like we were transported to Germany!

Food was very yummy. Had the sausage sampler, a spetzi, and some steak with a beer salad. Price was a bit high but well worth it. There was a long wait because it's just two little old ladies working but the place was packed, so understandable. Would totally come back for more. It's a unique German food spot.

Visiting this restaurant is like going to your grandmother's home. Food tastes homemade and service was warm. Potato pancakes and the strudel were excellent.My only gripe was the small serving size in comparison to the price, BUT, rent is definitely not a small thing here and it would be wonderful to see this place stay in business.

I did not like the food quality! The chicken was not cooked. The amount of the food was too little and overpriced. Nothing is good about this place! I will never go there again!

This place gives you the small town charm of a brewery. Go there if you have enough time to wait for your order to arrive. Everything is served by two lovely old ladies. The beer is awesome. Had a dark beer (don't remember the name) which had a pinch of honey to its taste.

I go here about three to four times a year. Tonight was excellent. Had the saurbraten and a beer and enjoyed it very much. They are a little pricey, but it's great so I don't mind paying for what I like.

This spot is worth trying. They serve big portions for fair prices. Constantly well kept and with great character. Will visit here again.

The most authentic German restaurant I have been to in the Bay Area, since my trip to Germany a few years back. This place is a Ma and Pa restaurant. The servers are older German ladies, with the kindest demeanor. Service was fantastic as well as the food. Here, they have the classic schweinshaxe, jager schnitzel, knodel, assortment of bavarian sausages, and German beer on tap. It is no doubt that the food is authentic because all I could hear was him speaking German. The inside is kept furnished in its old school style. I definitely prefer this spot compared to the other more modernized German restaurants.

I felt like back in time when my grandma used to cook for me. The whole decor of Hardys is like a time capsule. Nowadays it is pretty hard to find a place like Hardys in Germany! The Jodel-Music was a bit too much for me. But I enjoyed the ladies and their business. The only thing about old school places is that the interior is quiet urgently in need for an update. The carpet is dirty, furniture is out of date and it makes the whole place look kinda run down. The food and hospitality was good though.

Anna-Marie is the most delightful hostess and makes all welcome in this old school German restaurant. The decor is somewhat dated but the beer is cold and the food outstanding. Don't be in a hurry, take good company and have a relaxed night with authentic German food.

Quaint location in downtown Sunnyvale and the closest spot for German beers imported from Germany. Hofbrau, Erdinger and Andechs are regularly available here, that’s something I can’t even say of the Biergarten in SFO. All your traditional German food fare is also available here.

A great place for good German food. I had the classic Jaeger Schnitzel, which was quite good, as was the hefeweizen draft beer I drank with it. My wife had the pork shank special. It was pricey, but superb, with a clean taste, wonderful crispy skin, and such a large portion that you'll have leftovers. For dessert I had their Apple Strudel, which was excellent, and my wife had their Linzer Torte, which was also quite good.

This place clearly knows how to serve their clients. Always with a helpful mindset. The food is fairly priced, regularly delightful and clean.

I would give this a 5 in terms of the quality of food, extremely authentic German dishes, and I like their sourkraut especially. But watch out for the price. The pork shank is not on the menu, so I ordered it assuming It's at a similar price as other meat dishes. It ended up being 49 dollars, which is over twice the price of what I had anywhere in Germany or Canada.

This is a wonderfully authentic slice of Germany in Sunnyvale. The selection of beer and food is excellent and the staff are attentive and friendly. I enjoyed being able to speak some German with them. I would highly recommend this place.

My new favorite German restaurant on the bay area.Food is very tasty and service exceeded our expectations, they are very polite and helpful with our orders so we understand fully the menu. Beer was also very good! They serve your food in a reasonable timing, if you haven't been here is a "must try" !

Yesterday was our first time in this magnificent restaurant. But It is definitely not the last. We passed a splendid evening with the generous service, with the first-rate meal and fine drinks and with the honest cost. We will surely go back there in a short time.

Excellent service and food. Sooo much food! And so delicious!!! Staff makes you feel like you are their guest. And the atmosphere is very homey. We love the beer selection and I'd say that's one of the main reasons why we keep coming back, with the top reason being hospitality.

I love the food, communal tables, and German vibe. The restaurant could use a facelift, but I enjoyed every bite of my curry sausage b-fast. The potato pancake was crispy and delicious.

Just went in for a beer. Was not disappointed. Great-tasting double-bock on tap. Nice friendly older lady bartender. It was past dinner time, and the place was pretty dead. Pity. Hope that was an exception. I'll be back

Great food, excellent service.Went here for my Birthday. The dinner was delicious and the nutella cheesecake was amazing. I unfortunately forgot my credit card at the restaurant. The owner not only kept it safe for me, but when I came back and decided to buy an extra slice of cheesecake she gave it to me for free. Can't recommend this place highly enough.
